How many retry frames are normal/acceptable?
Hey,
I've been changing our company's laptops to automatically connect to our company WLAN recently, instead of manual connect before. That means, we will see more connected devices and more connection attempts etc.
I think I noticed on the number of retry frames have increased ever since. I cannot really prove that, since the statistic only goes back 24 hours. My questions:
- How many retry frames are normal/usual/acceptable?
- Can I see the retry frames/statistics somewhere on the event logs/system logs, so I can compare pre- and post change?
- Has anyone worked with RTS threshold to reduce retry frames? Any experience to share?
Thanks!

Thank you so much for this notification. he also helped me. I experienced the same problem I got from problem certificates. I resolved the issue by taking back the date

Re: Is there a way to schedule resets of APs? (MSM720 + MSM422/460s)
Hi everyone,
I was doing Factory Reset in all APs by windows scripting and plink.exe. A simple reboot did not resolve the issue.
I have one script to reset factory defaults and another one to accept all one by one because the come back as Suspicious Device.
After upgrade firmware to Software version: 6.6.8.0-23368 I did not need to reset factory defaults the Aps.
I had a lot of tickets in HPE Support about CPU load high and they release this versions fixing this issues.
I have two MSM760 working as Teaming, today the Uptime is Uptime: 109 days 23 hours 18 minutes and the APs go more then 45 days. After that I ran the scripts in preventive way in all APs to avoid any issues.
Re: Where can I purchase HP MSM 560 AP Mounting Brackets? What is the part number? I need 4 bracket
did you ever find any as I;m in the same boat?
Re: MSM 720 Access Controller (WW) how many licenses are included
In our school, we do have a MSM720 controller with 10 licenses included. Now I got 30 used APs cheap on Ebay and wanted to buy 30 additional licenses, but HP and all resellers tell me that the licenses reached EOL and that they do not sell them any more.
OK, what to do now? Shred 30 APs?

Hp 425 AP with MSM760 Controller
Dear All ,
Greetings
This is my first time using the HP community , as i am not familier with HP product .
As of now i have a problem which i cann't find any solution for it .
We have MSM760 (previous realese was 6.2. and now upgraded to 6.5.3.0 ) that has 33 HP 425 Access point connect .
The number of licesnse is 40 , when adding more HP 425 APs it stay in green color flashing and never detected by the Controller , nut it gets the IP address from the MSM760 Controller .
When login through console to HP 425 AP it says ("The device has exited zero configuration state") and version is 2.0 .
please be noted that there is config in the network its only for the WIFI system.
can anyone please suggest a solution for this ?
MSM 760 Block MACs on a specific VSC only
Hello,
I would like to know if it's possible to block MAC addresses on a specific VSC but have them still be able to connect to another VCS?
Basically the customer wants to block their staff from accessing and connecting to the guest WiFi.
Thank you in advance.
Kind Regards
Orsy
Re: MSM 760 Block MACs on a specific VSC only
Yes it looks like you can do this on a VSC basis. See the MSM7XX controller configuration guide:
"The Wireless MAC filter option enables you to control access to the wireless network based on the
MAC address of a wireless device. You can either block access or allow access, depending on
your requirements.
This feature is configured on the VSC profile page. (To open this page, see “Viewing and editing
VSC profiles” (page 112)).
MAC address list
Select the MAC address list to check when the Wireless MAC filter option is enabled. It the
MAC address of a client station appears in the list, then the selected Filter action is applied.
Define lists by selecting Security > MAC lists."

Hi,
Did you find a solution to this issue? I am in almost the same situation.
HP LTO-4 Ultrium 1760 troubleshooting
Hello!
I have HP LTO-4 Ultrium 1760 drive connected to a Mac Pro. The drive works normally with BRU software, but HPE StoreOpen Standalone reports "Found unsupported product Ultrium-4 SCSI". I heard that maybe installing latest firmware would solve the problem, but I don't know how to get it from HPE support website.
Can anyone help me, please???
Thank you in advance!
MSM 720 & Ruckus APs
I have a network set up with MSM 720 connected to ISP on the WAN side and 20 x Third-Party (Ruckus) APs on the LAN side through HP managed switches. Here are additional details:
LAN Address: 172.10.x.x
Management Subnet: 192.168.x.x and all APs are also on this subnet
One of the SSIDs is mapped to VLAN-200. WiFi clients on this SSID receive their dynamic address from the MSM controller (172.10.x.x) DHCP server. I use VSC Ingress Mapping to VLAN 200. Everything is working fine. In other words WiFi Clients get to the internet. The only issue is that WiFi Clients cannot access a wired server on VLAN-200 and on the 172.10.x.x. subnet. I can ping the server from the MSM-720 controller but not from the WiFi Clients. Looks like all traffic from the WiFIi Clients are sent to the gateway adddress of the APs which is 192.168.x.x. Any help is greatly appreciated.
Re: MSM760 deployment Doesn't work - needs "Mobility" Licence ?
Hi Zodapod,
Equipment definitely End of Sale, must be close to, or End of Life.
You can not purchase ANY HP MSM wifi equipments anymore, since HP purchased Aruba, and sell that now.
Are your accesspoints in a seperate vlan?
It sounds like there is too much traffic and it is killing the APs. (I had this exact problem when a device flooded the wifi vlan)
It can also be interference from the other APs. (Had this too - one unit tests radar, and the that forces channnel changes/cooldowns etc)
Enable RRM and do a scan, let it set the channels, then disable RRM again.
This should set each AP radio to channels that will not interfere.
Then drop the AP radio power to 50% and test. You may have to go up or down in power.
Enable interference mitigation on the AP radios.
If this does not work, disable ALL DFS channels.
Keep channel 1,6,11 only on 2.4Ghz radio, and make sure the closest APs do not share channels.
Just keep in mind, the HP MSM stuff does not have the 802.1r,v,k standards for roaming built in.
I have never had proper roaming happen. (4x MSM760 mobility + 500x MSM460/560 APs)
Your devices will be fine between -75db and up (Closer to 0). Your devices will still connect between -75 and -100db but no traffic will flow.
This happens a lot because the HPs don't roam - the client must do the roam, and is set to be "stable", and so do not roam. (minutes long timeouts)
On windows set the wifi driver roaming aggression to medium-high (default = medium)
IOS9 > roaming set to happen when signal drops to -70db
Android7 > is ok-ish.
We are starting to deploy Aruba IAP-325's which roam correctly. They do have the r k v standards.
The APs actively move devices to a stronger signal. I can walk our one building without dropping calls - approx 200m/800' on 12x APs.
Regards,
Craig.
Re: Firmware 6.6.7.1 - where to get
Support told me that 6.6.7.1 will be available soon
Re: 12 of 93 Access Points (all MSM310) stuck on 'Establishing tunnel' since today
Did anyone find a permanent solution for this? I've been unable to find any info about this from HP official documentation.

Depends on what caused your issue. For me it was a permanent solution to set the date on the controller back. All APs connected, received new certificates, I could set the data on the controller correct again, and the issue has not appeared anymore since then.
